Customer Ratings & Reviews

How customers rate your salon and staff after an appointment, and where you can see the results.

After a customer's appointment is finished, they get a chance to rate their experience. Here's how it works and where to find the results.

How a customer leaves a review

Once you (or your team) mark a booking as completed, and the customer left an email address when booking, they automatically receive an email letting them know their appointment is marked complete. That same email includes a line asking "How was your visit?" with a link to rate the salon and their stylist.

The customer clicks that link and is taken to a simple review page showing your salon's name and the name of the staff member who served them.

They give two separate star ratings (from 1 to 5): one for the salon overall, and one for the staff member who did the work.

The review link is personal to that one appointment and expires after 30 days. A customer can only submit one review per appointment — the link simply shows that they've already reviewed it if they try to use it again.

Where you see the ratings

Your salon's ratings are shown on your salon's public-facing rating summary, which includes:

  • An overall salon rating — the average score (out of 5) across every review your salon has received, plus how many reviews that's based on.
  • A rating per staff member — the average score and review count for each individual staff member, based only on the reviews where they were the assigned staff member for that booking.

If a staff member or your salon has no reviews yet, no average is shown (there's nothing to average) — only once reviews start coming in will a score appear.

Things to keep in mind

  • A review is only ever requested for a completed booking with a customer email on file — if a booking has no email, or is cancelled instead of completed, no review invitation is sent for it.
  • Ratings are always tied to a specific completed appointment and the staff member assigned to it — a customer can't leave a general, unattached review.
  • Each completed appointment can only generate one review invitation and one submitted review, so your rating numbers reflect actual completed visits rather than repeat voting on the same appointment.
